Competitions

Kirkcudbright Country Curling Club runs a series of internal club competitions each season and enters rinks in a number of area competitions.

Internal Club Competitions

The Club holds four main internal club competitions:

The Club Championship – a round robin league held at Dumfries IceBowl.
The Sub-Skips Competition – a round robin league held at Dumfries IceBowl.

The Claret Jug points competition held at Dumfries IceBowl
Annual Bonspiel – held at Dumfries IceBowl.

Inter-Club League Competitions

Currently the Club participates in three inter-club leagues:

The Rogerson League – held at the North-West Castle in Stranraer.
The DIBCA Seniors League – held at Dumfries IceBowl.
The Stewartry League– held at Dumfries IceBowl.

Inter-Club Cup Competitions

Currently the Club participates in 4 inter-club cups:

The Stewartry Province Medal

The Galloway Cup

The Queenshill Cup

Competition Times

  • Two intra-club competitions (Championship & Sub-Skips) are normally played on a Thursday afternoon from 14:30 to 16:30 at Dumfries across the season.

  • The Rogerson League is normally played on four Wednesday afternoon and evenings during the season at the North-West Castle in Stranraer.

  • The DIBCA Seniors League is normally played at 10am on Tuesday mornings at Dumfries IceBowl.

  • The Stewartry League is normally played from 18:30 to 20:30 or 20:30 to 22:30 on a Tuesday evening at Dumfries.

  • The Cup competitions are played at various times throughout the season.
